Avocado Hummus

Everyone knows that hummus is delicious on its own, but the addition of avocado adds a rich creaminess and smoothness you can not resist.

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans (drained, liquid reserved)
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 teaspoon cumin (you can substitute any other spice you like)
  • ½  teaspoon salt
  • ¼ – ½ cup water as needed (or the same amount of liquid from the can of beans)

Get Started:

Step 1:  Put chopped garlic cloves and chick peas in a food processor and puree until they turn into a rough paste. 

Step 2: Add lemon juice, cumin, and salt.  Pulse a few times.

Step 3:  Add chunks of avocado and puree until thoroughly combined.  Add ¼ to ½  cups of water to reach desired consistency.
